We've been anticipating the release of the new Jamie XX album for quite some time now, and after listening to the first single ‘Loud Places’ from his debut solo album ‘In Colour’ set for release in June we’re convinced it’s going to be a hell of a banger. Aired last night on Annie Mac’s radio one show, ‘Loud Places’ is a beautifully produced feel good track,  with vocals from the XX’s Romy Madley-Croft, and samples Idris Muhammad’s ‘Could Heaven Ever Be Like This’.  'In Colour' will feature new tracks...

If you haven’t got Spanish singer songwriter Sofi De La Torre on your radar yet, then welcome to your new obsession.  With a sound best described as sun drenched blissed out electro pop, Sofi has already had comparisons to the likes of Banks and a female version of Drake, all laced with a Californian laidback vibe.  With the imminent release of her new EP ‘That Isn’t You’, Sofi is in the midst of making 2015 her own, and we managed to catch up with her to talk styling,...

Ben Khan has been a little quite recently after releasing his previous EP ‘1992’ but has now come back like lightening and is electrifying us with his new title track ‘1000’.  London’s soul artist and producer has truly shown what he can do, creating his own sound that is full of synths, bass and a hint of blues guitar. The lyrics are simple with a catchy hook, painting a picture of flirting to go with the bouncing beat that will get you moving to during every second of the...

Olivver the Kid is the alter ego of Bryan Sammis, former drummer of the much-talked-about indie band The Neighbourhood. After splitting ways with the band in early 2014, Sammis began putting out tracks through his solo project, including his successful debut EP ‘Freak’. Released in October 2014, ‘Freak’ had tracks like the catchy tune ‘Lucy (Hurt People Hurt People), and the super-chill ‘Attica ‘71’. Much like his former band, a lot of Olivver the Kid’s music is synth- and drum-heavy. That being said, Sammis puts his own spin...

The tune to bounce along to at the moment has got to be “Lean On”. Diplo’s dancehall alter ego, Major Lazer dropped the new single earlier this week featuring DJ Snake and MØ and you will have it on repeat. Diplo and MØ have already collaborated with the track “XXX 88”. You will find powerful melodies and immense beats again in “Lean On”. MØ’s vocals truly shine through in a siren-like way. It won’t be long before we hear more from Major Lazer. Diplo has said the forthcoming album has...

If you’re an audiophile who’s been attentively monitoring the electronic pop scene, you’d have noticed a steady rise of female pop artists in the past few years. The new wave includes everyone from last year’s mainstream breakout Lorde to England’s very own FKA Twigs. This year, singer-songwriter-producer Tei Shi is set to take the genre by storm. The multi-hyphenate first released her debut EP, Saudade, in 2013, and is set to put out her new EP, Verde, in April. With her breathy vocals, mellow synths, and cheeky lyrics,...
