Fortunately, this is not a dreamt-up fabricated list of a festival one could only ever imagine would exist. This is in fact what will be in store for those lucky enough to be attending Secret Solstice this summer. A unique festival experience being held for the very first time in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Inspired by Norse mythology, Secret Solstice introduces a three-day festival, taking place on 20-22nd June, the locations proximity to the article circle means there will be 72-hours of continuous day light. Icelandic Festival organiser Fred Olafsson says, ‘I was working with a band who did a gig in Iceland last year and we were still outside at 2am. I suddenly wondered why no one had set up a festival that would allow people to check out the 24-hour sun.’
The festival will be held at the Laugardalur recreational area, also known as Hot Spring Valley, which is located 15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. The festival grounds feature a huge swimming pool, hot tubs, saunas, and camping grounds. With only 36 days to go, the countdown is on. Check out the full line-up below:
